The weekend set off in true Brazilian style - hot and humid weather! But the heat was not the only thing Dario was to bring with him - there is an extra anointing that comes with the going! Dario was faithful in his calling to go and as the FGBMFI in West Yorkshire we were obedient in our calling to receive those who are prepared to come - God honours and sets the seal for an amazing time!

The Power Praise band started the Saturday evening meeting - with modern worship songs, prayer and words from God. Dario felt led to share about his life. His teenage years were spent as a street fighter - both practising and teaching. He fell in love with the girls time and again - even to the point of his wife to be accepting him back twenty times from other women! In short - he was a bad boy! His brother Dirlei then had the courage to invite him to church. Dario heard for the first time the message of Jesus and that day became a Christian. His life changed, slowly and for the better. He prayed that he would stop falling in love with different women and stay with his one true love, which he did until her death.

Within two years Dario began to pastor the church and equipped the congregation to preach the Gospel across the town - seeing massive growth and new churches started. He was faithful to God in bringing Nicky Cruz to the town to preach in the football stadiums and gymnasiums, even though it cost him a house and most of his possessions - Dario was faithful and the way he and his family stood when they lost it all was the means God used to see Darios mum come to know Jesus.

As Dario read the Bible he thought that if you take away the miracles there is not much left! And so, in trepidation, Dario began to pray for the sick in his meetings - and people began to get healed. Praying for the sick and expecting miracles became the hallmark of meetings at the church and invitations came from other churches in Brazil for Dario to preach and pray and seek God for miracles. Dario and his brother Douglas who was led to Jesus by him, also had a heart for drug addicts and set up a programme, Peace Connection, that reaches out to drug addicts and alcoholics in many Brazilian cities. To date over 3000 people have been set free of drugs through this ministry.

Dario soon received invitations from around the world and obeyed God to become a travelling evangelist. He has preached in 20 countries and 17 Brazilian states. The first time he preached in English was in a meeting in Pakistan! In every meeting he sees miracles happen - and Dario shared with us about deaf ears opening, people leaving wheelchairs and much more.

As Darios life story came to a close we came to a time of ministry. First the congregation prayed with each other, as all authority and power in heaven is ours and each and every Christian believer is capable of praying for the sick and seeing miracles. Emotional problems were sorted out, backaches were healed, and hearing problems disappeared. Dario was then led to pray for people with hearing problems. One girl was prayed over because a bleeding ear in childhood left her to hear muffled noises when people spoke to her in a noisy environment. As Dario prayed God showed him an imperfection in the ear, which God perfected to enable her to hear well.

As miracle after miracle took place in the lives of all who were present - God was certainly touching and changing people for the better. The evening came to a close - Dario prayed with whoever wanted prayer - and people praised God for changed lives and healing.

On Sunday morning there was an air of expectation. People knew God would move powerfully. People knew that Dario would preach with insight and wisdom, as a man of action not simply words. And God was not going to disappoint! Power Praise band opened with worship and at 11.10am we handed over to Dario. After testimony from Jean who was healed of the ear problem on Saturday, Dario spoke.

His theme for the morning was "The Voice of God" - his text Exodus 15:26:

"If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you."

The key to living a victorious Christian life is to hear, listen and act upon the voice of God. Dario expounded this with humour, drama, stories from his ministry and valuable lessons that changed and equipped all who were present. Who could forget the hilarious street-fighter type wrestle?

The key to hearing the voice of God is that we need to be seeking after Jesus - not blessings, not prosperity, not healing, not church - but when we seek to follow only Jesus then God will add these blessings into our lives because our focus is Him. We have a direct access to God - God will never speak to us in contradiction of His word (the Bible) but God wants to have communication with each and every Christian believer about every situation. We should not need to run our church pastor - we can go straight to Jesus. So many Christians only turn to the Bible when they need help - a kind of Christian lucky dip - whereas the Bible is Gods love letter to us, and when you have a love letter it deserves to be read!

Dario then moved into a time of ministry - as there were only 25 or so in the congregation Dario sought to pray with every person - seeking prophetic words, affirming and encouraging ministries, seeking miracles and healing. This was truly a Spirit-led and God moving in power time for all - and one that will equip us to be the people God destined us to be…

Before we realised it was 1.30pm and the meeting had run for three fast hours! When God shows up time is irrelevant! So after goodbyes and more ministries the 10.30am meeting came to a close at 2.20pm!!!!  


It was then on to Brackenholme Business Park in Selby for the final meeting with Dario in the Yorkshire area. People had travelled from across East and North Yorkshire for the evening. Dario spoke about healing - sharing his life story, about some of the healings he had seen, and again how the key to healing is seeking first Jesus not the healing or blessing. Dario then asked for those who needed a healing to indicate and for others to pray with them. The healing is from God and we can all pray for others for healing. It does not have to be the visiting preacher from Brazil. Healings can and should be the hallmark of every Christian gathering. People prayed and again God responded!

A lady who hadnt been able to move her back without pain for 5 years could touch the floor no problem. A gentleman who had an accident 15 years ago that meant he could not walk without sticks was able to make his first unaided steps without pain. A lady with breast cancer and a lump in her breast was prayed for and the lump and the cancer went.

Dario had to catch a coach back to London so the meeting ended, people chatted with Dario, and he was dropped off in Sheffield to catch his bus.

All in all a great weekend! God moved, God ministered, God changed lives. Dario is a man of God who has had the call to go - and even though he misses his family and finds travelling for weeks at a time hard - he is faithful to that calling. Dario has a normality and humbleness - his ministry is about pointing people to Jesus and seeing God do miracles. If you missed this weekend in Yorkshire - you missed something wonderful!
